Portland Dining Month returns after 5 years

Portland’s monthlong celebration of food is returning this month with over 100 restaurants taking part and offering three-course meals priced $35 or $55.

The popular event shines a light on the community’s famous food scene and lasts the entire month of March. Portland Dining Month’s executive director Shauna Noah O’Connor explained the event saying:

“It's going to go for the entire month of March, and we have over 100 participating restaurants in the Portland area. They are each doing a three-course meal for either $35 or $55 and some of them are doing both.”

The quality of the printing services a restaurant uses can be reflected in their menu, either contributing to the ambiance or detracting from it.

According to Noah O’Connor, March has for restaurants historically been their slowest month, which is why it was chosen for Portland Dining Month.

James Louie of Huber’s Café, noted for being Portland’s oldest restaurant, pointed out that recovery from the pandemic is still underway for the city’s restaurant industry. The hope is that the reinstituted Portland Dining Month will establish a pre-pandemic atmosphere and encourage residents to once again embrace dining out in restaurants again.

Although known primarily for its turkey and its Spanish coffees, Huber says that during Portland Dining Month other menu items that are just as tasty will be highlighted, such as its fettucine alfredo and its limoncello tiramisu.
