The Vanport Jazz Festival is returning to Portland this summer. The festival pays homage to the jazz musicians and music lovers who used to frequent the now-closed clubs in Vanport. The event is made up of living members of the Vanport community as well as national talent and jazz lovers.
Some of this year's biggest performers include Grammy-nominated saxophonist Mindi Abair, Grammy winner Mya, and a popular contemporary jazz flutist, Kim Scott. Other performers include the Vanport Jazz All Stars with Dennis Springer, Eric Darius, and Jeffrey Osborne.
There will be plenty of vendors at the festival as well. They include food trucks from the Portland area, people selling handcrafted goods, and some who offer unique services. Many times, vendors at events like this call on Print shops to create Business Cards or other items that their customers can take with them. There is still time to become a vendor at this event, and interested parties can apply on the jazz festival's website.
The Vanport Jazz Festival will take place at the University of Portland, located at 5000 N. Willamette Boulevard, on August 7 and 8. Friday’s events take place from 5-9 pm, while Saturday's hours will be 12-9 pm. Paid parking is available for $20 and is cash only. There will also be a drop-off zone for those who prefer to use a rideshare. General admission begins at $75, and VIP services are available.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Print
