Portland Book Festival to welcome two headliners

Successful romantasy author Rebecca Yarros as well as politician and writer Stacy Abrams will participate in this year’s Portland Book Festival in November.

Yarros, who became a “BookTok” sensation, released the first of her Empyrean series of Books in 2023 with “Fourth Wing” which have since been followed by “Iron Flame” and “Onyx Storm” the second and third Books in the series. “BookTok” is a book-centric space on TikTok.

Yarros’ Books have each sold millions of Copies and been New York Times best-sellers. Her Empyrean series is about a young woman training to become a dragon rider for war.

She announced her participation in the 2025 Portland Book Festival on Instagram saying:



“I’ve never done an event in Portland before and I’m SO excited to get to see some of you Pacific Northwesterners!”




Abrams who has unsuccessfully made two runs for governor of Georgia will be promoting the third book in her fictional Avery Keene political crime thriller series, titled “Coded Justice”.

A total of over 80 authors representing a wide range of genres will appear at the festival on one of 10 stages to talk about their writing. Moreover, the festival will include pop-up readings, writing workshops and book fair.

The Portland Book Festival will take place on Saturday, November 8 and is sponsored by the nonprofit Literary Arts. Additionally, more bookish events will take place November 1-9.
