5K run helps Portland celebrate Juneteenth

A distance run is being planned in Portland for this summer with the goal of promoting community and collective joy, and area residents are invited to lace their shoes and sign up.

The Run on the Bluff 5K, which is being organized by the Big Yard Foundation, will welcome registered participants and those who wish to support family and friends in a run all about celebrating Juneteenth. Interested parties of all experience levels and paces are welcome to sign up, including joggers and walkers.

Individuals who sign up will receive bib numbers for the race, which will be available for pickup during check-in on the morning of the race. While participants warm up and stretch, a Kids’ Fun Run will take place that is open to children of all ages. Printing services can help organizers create Banners to promote such races and their sponsors, building goodwill and visibility.

The 5K run will begin when the kids’ run ends, with participants welcome to chase personal records or go at the pace that feels best. After crossing the finish line, runners and walkers will get to join the cooldown festivities and enjoy live music.

Registered guests will meet near 3177 N. Willamette Boulevard in Portland on Friday, June 19 at 8:00 AM. Interested parties can register online through donations, which support the Big Yard Foundation.
