Steakhouse to come to Lake Oswego

Lisa Shaw-Ryan, owner of Casa Pequena Taqueria and Chuckie Pies in Lake Oswego, will be opening a steak house in the community.

Shaw-Ryan said she felt that a steakhouse was needed in Lake Oswego, and she wanted to bring one to the community, but the right location needed to be found. Shaw-Ryan is a resident of Lake Oswego and the feedback she has received from customers is that they wanted a steakhouse.

The restaurant will be traditional with modern touches such that it can be a destination for a date night that is fancy but not fussy. The steakhouse will occupy half the restaurant while the other half will be Bar Ruby with an open kitchen and more casual seating. In general, it will be a special, celebratory style restaurant with a higher price point than her other two restaurants.

The menu will include prime rib, New York steak, and filet mignon. There will be alternatives to steak such as fish, as well as desserts in a European style. Wine will be served in addition to classic cocktails like old-fashioneds and martinis.

Jewel Box Steak will be on A Avenue in what was once the Scratch and Baldwins Market and Parlor, and is expected to open in late fall.
