New deli opens in Lake Oswego

Elephants Delicatessen is now open in a new shop in Lake Oswego. It has been serving delicatessen staples to residents of Portland since 1979.

The new Mercantile Drive store was once the second location of Uptown’s Market. The space, which spans 3,200 square feet, has been transformed from a tap room into a store selling specialty foods, and includes items such as charcuterie, cheese, take-home meals, wine, and beer. This location will also offer gelato—the first shop in the family of stores to sell this product—and a new line of hot baguette sandwiches. Such stores can look to local Print shops to help with the creation of Flyers and other materials featuring menu items and other specials.

Anne Weaver, CEO and co-owner of Elephants, said that the company has been in the Kruse Woods office parks for 16 years and has developed many loyal fans. She expressed her excitement about moving into an area where there is more parking and greater visibility, and where the full experience of Elephants can be shared. Weaver added that what they offer is ideal for businesses and families and that she looks forward to serving great food, spreading good cheer, and being active in the community.

Elephants in Lake Oswego will also be selling a full Thanksgiving meal for pickup and delivery. Customers will be able to order side dishes and a la carte entrees.
