The Lake Oswego Recreation and Aquatic Center will soon be open.
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony later this month at the center, which is on Southwest Stafford Road. There will be self-guided tours, a photo booth, live music by DJ Avelanche, and treats and refreshments as part of the celebration. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a special preview of the golf course adjacent to the facility before it opens to the public.
The new facility will open along with the Lake Oswego Municipal Golf Course, which has been reconfigured, and includes recreational and competitive pools, exercise and meeting rooms, and a gymnasium, among other offerings.
Access to the center will be based on membership and applications are currently being accepted by the Parks and Recreation Department. The cost for an adult membership will be $420 a year for residents of Lake Oswego and $630 for non-residents. This fee will include access to the fitness center, the gymnasium, the swimming facilities, and certain fitness classes.
Poster printing is often used throughout a city to promote such special events to the public.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be on Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. The Parks and Recreation Department will make an announcement at a later time regarding an official opening date for the center.
