Lake Oswego to commemorate Memorial Day

The Lake Oswego Veterans Memorial and the city of Lake Oswego will be holding a Memorial Day Commemoration at Foothills Park.

A highlight of the event will be Captain Jonathan Puskas as the keynote speaker. He is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College of American Military University, and the Senior Executive Fellows program of the Harvard Kennedy School. He has served on the USS Halyburton and the USS Abraham Lincoln and has held active-duty posts with United States European and Pacific Commands.

The emcee will be Bryan Sheldon, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a current School Resource Officer. His background in the military combined with his dedication to the community is set to bring a tone of respect to the event.

There will also be a flyover of the West Coast Ravens, which is a group of elite pilots known for their precision aerobatics. The colors will be presented by the Lake Oswego Honor Guard, who will also lead a 21-gun salute. Taps will be played to bring the ceremony to a close and offer a solemn tribute to those who gave their lives to defend the country.

This event will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, May 26. Such notable events can be promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
