A community envisioning process has begun by the Lake Oswego Public Library that will shape the future of the library for many years.
There are three goals of the process. One is to determine the library’s tole in meeting emerging needs and addressing community challenges. Another is to gain an understanding of the community’s current and future needs for library facilities, services, and amenities. The last is to create a shared vision for the future of the library.
The library is looking to engage the community of Lake Oswego in this process. There will be a community survey held online, interviews with external and internal stakeholders, community forums held in person, passive information gathering points, and focus groups.
Local Print shops can assist with such efforts. They can Print Flyers and Posters to inform the community of such a process and encourage and let them know how they can participate.
The library is working with a consulting firm, BerryDunn, to make the engagement process as robust and inclusive as possible. The consulting firm will provide its expertise using both a local and national frame of reference and will facilitate conversations about the role of the library in serving the community, the needs of residents and how the library serves them, and the resources needed to meet the vision of the library in serving the community in the future.
