Fundraising run and walk to be held in Lake Oswego

This year’s Lake Oswego Lake Run will be held this weekend.

Hosted by Northwest Housing Alternatives, the Lake Run will take place at Millennium Park and will feature runs of 5K and 10K where participants will be able to travel around Oswego Lake and enjoy their breath-taking community. There will also be a Kids Dash.

Awards will be given out at the end by Joe Buck, mayor of Lake Oswego, in both the 5K and 10K for men’s and women’s youth, men’s and women’s adult, and men’s and women’s seniors. There will also be food carts, games for the kids, a face painter, and llamas.

Director of philanthropy and resource development for Northwest Housing, Kristin Barber, said this course is among the most beautiful in the state. The organization is a non-profit developer of affordable housing in Oregon, and this event is one of its two fundraisers held every year.

Barber added that Lake Oswego is a family-oriented town, so having this festival will be an effective way to encourage people to get out and participate. Poster printing is an ideal medium for spreading word about such events and their fundraising efforts.

The event will be held this Saturday, May 6, with the 10K beginning at 8:00 am, the 5K at 8:15 am, and the Kids Dash at 10:00 am.
