A brand new festival coming to Bend this summer has recently been forward, with the Bend Central District Block Party now set for late June.
The inaugural festival was originally planned to take place on July 10 11, per an announcement on the BCD Block Party website back in December.
However, while the festival is still being touted as having many of the same activities, it has been changed to a single-day event on Saturday, June 27 according to an updated announcement on the festival’s website.
Applications, which can be completed online, remain open for artists, commercial vendors, and food trucks to take part in the festival.
The open-street festival takes place in the Bend Central District, also called the Arts District, a recently developed shopping and cultural destination that serves as a complementary attraction to downtown and the Old Mill District.
The 196-acre district is located in a reformed portion of industrial land near Northeast 2nd Street and Northeast Hawthrone Avenue, and the surrounding blocks. Amenities include the Campfire Hotel, the Dogwood at The Pine Shed cocktail bar, food carts, the Greenhouse Cabaret playhouse, the music venue Open Space, and the forthcoming teen-focused Open Arts Center.
The BCD Block Party serves to highlight the many arts activities available in the district. Festivals like this may use banner printing to create marquees and vendor Signs.
