Metal band booked for Bend venue

Bend is getting a dose of metal when the band Novelists performs at the Volcanic Theatre Pub in September.

The French progressive metalcore band is fresh off of a new album, CODA, with a new lead singer, Camille. In a recent interview, Camille explained the album is an attempt to bring something new to the metal scene.

In musical terms, CODA is the marking of the end of a piece. Hence, the name of Novelists’ latest album also signifies the closing of a chapter and the beginning of another, Camille said. Many of the band members also went through significant changes in recent years, including losses, breakups or switching professions.

The three singles initially released from the album include the titular song, “CODA,” “K.O.,” and “All For Nothing.” They were chosen to introduce the album to showcase a variety of styles that the band is capable of, the lead singer explained.

“All For Nothing” was particularly challenging to nail down, Camille said. The band reworked the chorus and verses several times before landing on the final result, which was ultimately well-received by fans, she said.

Music events like this may choose to use business card printing in case the venue or merch operators want to connect with potential clients.

Novelists are performing on September 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Volcanic Theatre Pub at 70 SW Century Dr. in Bend.
