Bend to host annual apraxia fundraising walk

Apraxia, a neurological issue that impacts kids and adults alike, will be put in the spotlight at a Bend fundraising event in September.

The 2022 Deschutes County Walk for Apraxia is intended to raise both funds and awareness, and registration is free. Those who participate will revive a variety of perks to thank them for their support, and all help will be appreciated.

The staging area for the day will be set up at the Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center, and it will be an in-person event, with a virtual option available. The monies raised will fund educational opportunities and research, provide financial aid, and make activities possible for the local apraxia community. The registration kiosk will open an hour ahead of the kick-off time for the walk, and everyone has been asked to get involved.

To thank those who chose to participate, the organizers explained that there is a selection of Corporate Gifts on offer. These start at a T-shirt printed with the function’s Logo Design, for those who raise at least $50, and go up from there. More details about this can be found on the Apraxia Kids website.

The 2022 Walk for Apraxia is scheduled for September 25 in Bend. The registration kiosk will be open at 11:30 am, and the walk itself will begin at 12:30 pm.
