Bend residents invited to raise their forks for local students

An event is on the way for Bend that will give locals a chance to show their support for students who attend the Central Oregon Community College (COCC).

Both Taste of the Town and Meal of the Year have been planned as fundraisers that will help provide scholarships to those who attend classes at the college. The two-day event will feature offerings from local eateries, and the entertainment will be supplied by The High Street Band.

Each ticketholder of the Taste of the Town portion of the event will be able to sample as many of the small bite dishes that will be on offer as they wish, and a no-host bar will also be set up for the occasion. There will be lots of time for socializing and dancing, and all are welcome.

The Meal of the Year, which will be held on the Saturday, includes a four-course sit-down style meal, and it will be a black tie affair. The food will be prepared by the Cascade Culinary Institute, and corporate tables can be reserved for the evening. Custom drinkware for this type of occasion can be sourced form a printing company.

The proceeds of both of these fundraisers will be added to the COCC scholarship fund to help students pay for their post-secondary education. They have been scheduled for February 23 and 24, and will be held in the college’ gymnasium.
