Bend parents offered spots in screening sessions schedule
A good life usually starts with a healthy beginning, and a program that can help make that happen has scheduled a community screening day for WIC’s Bend clients.
Those who book a time for the Health and Development Screening session, which will be available both in English and Spanish, will be offered access to a check that can help to make sure their child is meeting their developmental milestones. All WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) clients are welcome, and anyone who would like to schedule a time is asked to call 541-383-6357.
Each child who attends a screening will have their hearing and vision checked using basic testing methods, and speech, behavior, and development will also be reviewed. If there are any issues, the parents or caregivers may be referred for additional services, and there is no fee being charged for the appointment.
Parents of small children (this session is for kids ages 0 to 5) are often concerned about their health and development, and a screening session can help to reassure them. A brochure printing company will be able to prepare information packages that provide details about supports on offer in the local area.
The Deschutes County WIC program will be holding this event on June 23, and timeslots are available from 1:30 pm until 4:00 pm. The venue for the afternoon will be located at 2577 NE Courtney Drive in Bend.
