A Bend company that offers an assortment of nature-based experiences will be leading a hike that will combine hiking with foraging and freshly prepared food.
Luckey’s Woodsman and Wanderlust Tours will be leading a guided outing to the forest for a unique experience that will show how Mother Nature provides a bounty of free food. Ethical foraging principles will be followed, and the facilitator will be an experienced naturalist.
The group will learn about the ecosystems they encounter as they go, and they will find out how to properly identify an assortment of plant and animal species. Tips for preparing wild foods will be shared, and the importance of accurate identification will be stressed. After the forage, attendees will gather for a meal that utilizes locally sourced natural ingredients, and beer and wine will accompany the food. Tickets are $260 each, which includes transportation from the host's offices in Bend.
