Bend needlecrafters to learn new techniques

Locals who would like to add some new techniques to their needlework skillset while enjoying an afternoon of socializing may want to reserve their seat for Fancywork Yarn Shop’s Colorwork and (EEK!) Steeking workshop.

The shop has planned a learning opportunity that will take place over two afternoons, and it will teach those with an intermediate skill level how to craft a baby bonnet using a variety of colorwork stitches. It was noted that the project chosen will be a small one so that everyone will be able to learn as much as they can, and a list of materials needed has been supplied.

The participants will each be working on their own bonnet, and while they do, they will practice following charts, as well as using decreasing to shape an item and other techniques. It was recommended that everyone who Signs up should have some experience using circular knitting and also some basic crochet stitches.

A workshop like this gives those who already enjoy a hobby an opportunity to have some fun while they pick up some new skills. Materials produced by a flyer printing company offers an easy way to promote the function throughout the community

Bend’s Fancywork Yarn Shop will be offering this knitting class starting on November 9. The registration fee is $65.
