Bend gets their ducks in a row
Bend families can enjoy a day of duck races and fun activities, as the 26th Annual Great Duck race fundraiser looks to help
charities in Central Oregon.
For five dollars, individuals can purchase rubber ducks to participate in a race. Ducks can be purchased at any Bend area Rotarian along with the First Community, Mid Oregon, OnPoint Community, Oregonians, and Selco Credit Unions.
There will be a children's race where the first 500 kids can participate. Later there will be a general race. Winners of the duck race can win prizes such as diamond stud earrings, a golf package, gift cards, and more.
Along with the duck races, there will also be music, food, jumpers, and activity booths. It’s likely a flyer printing service has been busy creating handouts to promote the event. Flyers can easily be distributed in high traffic areas.
Proceeds from the event will go to help local Boys and Girls Clubs and other non-profit organizations that help children and families in need.
The duck race will take place on September 13. The festivities will begin at 11:00 am. The kids' duck race will begin at noon followed by the main race at 1:30 pm. The event will culminate with an awards ceremony at 2:30 pm.
The event will be held at Drake Park, located on 777 Northwest Riverside Boulevard. The duck race itself will begin at Galveston Bridge.
