Bend enjoys old-fashioned fun
Bend locals can soon enjoy an animal parade, pancakes, and a festival.
Before the festival begins, individuals can fill up on a pancake breakfast from the Sunrise Lions Club.
Then, residents can check out the Bend Pet Express Pet Parade, where they can bring their leashed pets, stuffed animals, and walk the 1.5-mile parade route. No doubt a banner printing service has been contacted to make large signs for the parade. The event begins at 520 Northwest Wall Street.
After that, they can spend the day at the Old Fashioned Fourth of July Festival at Drake Park. Here, families can enjoy old-fashioned games, including a three-legged race, a hula-hoop contest, and a balloon toss. There will also be a wide variety of food and craft vendors. Community booths will offer additional games and activities, such as ‘pin the tail on the doggie’.
Throughout the day, there will be live entertainment on the Pavilion main stage, including a pie-eating contest, a family dance party, and several swing performances. Attendees can also see Smokey the Bear or take some festive pictures in a photo booth.
The pancake breakfast will be held on July 4 from 8:00 am until 11:00 am. Lineup for the parade begins at 9:00 am and the parade itself starts at 10:00 am. The festival will take place from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.
