Working with wood provides a way to craft items that are as beautiful as they are functional, and a Bend workshop planned with couples in mind will offer a hands-on introduction to the hobby.
No experience is needed to participate in the Cutting Boards workshop organized by DIY Cave. The cost to register is $129.00. The session is scheduled for the evening and will run for two and a half hours.
Each couple will be making two cutting boards, and all materials, equipment, and instruction will be supplied. These will be prepared and ready to work with upon their arrival, and the attendees will be taught how to use tools such as a bandsaw, router, sanders, and other items. The skills learned can be applied to other projects as well.
The listing for the class pointed out that, while it is geared towards couples, children age 12 and up are welcome, but they need to have an adult who is also registered on site with them. Locally based workshops often find that flyer printing companies can provide them with effective marketing options that help them spread the word without breaking the bank.
This evening of woodworking will run from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm on Friday, August 23 at 444 SE 9th Street. The organizers can be contacted by phone at 541-388-2283.
