Art festival raises funds to help local charities

The Sunriver Art Fair is taking place next month for three days. It is a fundraiser for the Sunriver Women’s Club (SRWC), which helps several local charities each year.

This is a juried festival and there will be over 60 artists on hand who will be selling items such as ceramics, glass, woodworking, and homemade jewelry. These artists will mostly come from nearby communities such as Bend. A few may invest in banner printing services to bring more attention to their work and to help decorate their booths.

An art center for children will be set up each day from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and will offer lots of fun activities. It is supervised so parents can leave them behind while they enjoy the rest of the fair and do some shopping.

There are set to be dance parties on both Friday and Saturday night featuring entertainment from Juju Eyeball and the Klassixa Ayre Band. Other musical acts that will be performing throughout the two-day festival include Bill Keale and Franchot Tone.

Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help ensure that the festival runs smoothly and efficiently.

The Sunriver Art Fair will be held in the Village of Sunriver from August 12 to 14. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about this event or to volunteer, visit the Sunriver Women’s Club website.
