Annual SMaSH Fest planned for Bend

An event is being held in Bend that will give those who take part a chance to learn more about the different beers that the area has to offer, and also to discover for themselves what flavors different ingredients can bring to a brew.

McMenamins O’Kanes Square will be hosting the central Oregon Beer Week SMaSh Fest, which has become a tradition over the last few years. SMaSh, which stands for ‘Single Malt and Single Hop’, celebrates beers that use a single variety of both hop and malt. This breaks the beverage down to its most basic elements, giving those who take part a chance to appreciate the simplicity and unique flavors they impart.

The Oregon brewers who have chosen to take part are free to select whichever lager, pilsner, India pale ales, or other beer that they feel is best suited to the event. The public is invited to come and try them all for themselves. Some will even have been specially brewed just for the occasion. Promotional Drinkware can be designed for use during festivals such as this, whether this is in serving the drinks or selling items as souvenirs.

The 2016 Central Oregon Beer Week SMaSH Fest will take place on May 28. Those who want to know more or who would like to see a list of the entries and winners from previous years are invited to visit the event’s website for further details.
