Workshop to boost health and safety knowledge

Safex will hold the OSHA Recordkeeping Workshop soon, allowing Westerville professionals to sharpen their Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping skills.

Founded in 1992, Safex is a health and safety consulting business with the mission of keeping employees safe on the job. The company provides consulting services to industries such as manufacturing, construction, education, and engineering. Training programs include industries such as industrial hygiene, human resources, and OSHA training and compliance.

December’s workshop is designed for human resources professionals, workers’ compensation managers, and safety supervisors who have responsibility for OSHA 300 logs. Organizers request that attendees bring their current OSHA records to go over and update during the class.

Attendees will learn about how to define medical treatment beyond first aid, how to differentiate between OSHA rules and workers’ compensation rules, how to use OSHA definitions to determine restricted duty and lost workdays, and how to identify alternatives to incentive programs. Upon completion of the course, students will have learned how to how to complete OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 Forms.

Professional training workshops like this also can provide good opportunities for students to network with like-minded peers, so attendees may decide to stock up on Business Cards by visiting local Print shops beforehand.

The OSHA Recordkeeping Workshop is scheduled for next Tuesday, December 7 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Safex is located on 140 North Otterbein Avenue. Workshop registration is $195.
