Westerville to welcome inclusive swim event

The Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) will hold the Teen & Adult Inclusive Pool Party at the Westerville Community this February.

DSACO was founded in 1984 to help individuals with Down syndrome live fulfilling lives in a welcoming and inclusive community. The organization works to support the families of these individuals, promote community involvement, and encourage unique opportunities for people with Down syndrome. These efforts include organizing special events and inclusive activities for the Down syndrome community.

The pool party is one of them and will invite people with Down syndrome aged 13 and up, as well as their immediate siblings and parents, to enjoy splashing around the pool facilities at the Westerville Community Center. There will be water activities such as a lazy river, splash area, and water slides to enjoy in a sensory-sensitive and less crowded environment. The event is also open to other community members with disabilities and their families.

Community centers frequently have bulletin boards where event Flyers are posted for the benefit of members. Organizers wishing to advertise their events this way may seek out local flyer printing services.

The inclusive swim party is scheduled for Sunday, February 7 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Westerville Community Center is located at 350 North Cleveland Avenue. The pool party is free to attend, but attendees must register in advance.
