Westerville Education Challenge will host their 5th Annual Night of Hope event this August, a charity running event that sheds light on mental health challenges and offers resources to help.
The Westerville Education Challenge is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 that has a mission to create healthy school cultures where students feel welcomed, supported, and safe. One way the organization does this is through raising money and awareness for social emotional learning initiatives in schools. The Night of Hope event happening next month is one such example of these endeavors.
The event will not only raise awareness of mental illness, but it will also honor the lives lost to suicide. There will be a 5K, 1-mile, and Family Fun Run around the track at Westerville North High School. Mental health partners will also have booths set up with information on their programs and resources. Money raised will support initiatives in Westerville City Schools such as WEB (Where Everyone Belongs), Hope Squad, and Twinkle’s Care.
Vendors wishing to share information about their community resources may decide to invest in local brochure printing services to prepare a supply of Brochures to hand out.
The Night of Hope event is scheduled to take place on August 22, beginning at 6:00 pm. Westerville North High School is located at 950 County Line Road.
