The Star Behavioral Health Providers (SBHP) will offer the Free CE Training for Behavioral Health Providers Focused on Vets and Military this November for any Westerville professionals interested in improving their skillset in this area.
SBHP is an Ohio organization that connects people and families connected with the military with licensed behavioral health providers in the civilian realm who have been trained in military culture and effective treatment methods for military personnel. SBHP receives funding from the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and collaborates with the Department of Veterans Services, Ohio National Guard, and other mental health-related organizations.
The CE training will equip civilian behavioral health professionals with the tools and skills necessary to effectively treat veterans and service members. Attendees will learn evidence-based methods of improving engagement and applying strategies that positively affect clinical outcomes, all while deepening their understanding of military culture and its impact on mental health. All attendees will receive continuing education credits for successfully completing the class.
Professional workshops like this will often lead to networking opportunities as well. As such, those who attend the training events may find it beneficial to bring along a supply of Business Cards for potential networking.
The CE training is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. It will be held at the Quest Conference Center, located at 9200 Worthington Road, Westerville.
