The Rotary Club of Westerville will hold its 64th Annual Independence Day Celebration this year, which is an all-day extravaganza with multiple activities and opportunities for residents to show both city and country pride.
Since 1968, the Rotary Club has taken over responsibility for organizing the celebration, along with the collaboration of the City of Westerville Fire and Police Divisions, Parks & Recreation, Public Service Department, and Electric Division. The celebration will feature a parade, a 5K race, live entertainment, and a fireworks display.
The theme for the parade this year will be “250 Years Strong, We All Belong,” which was submitted by Fouse Elementary first-grader Reagan Samborsk in response to the Rotary Club’s parade theme contest. The parade will take place on the morning of the 4th, starting on Old County Line Road and going south to Electric Avenue. The 5K race/walk will also take place in the morning. Evening activities will include the food truck festival, concert series, and the fireworks display will wrap up the day’s festivities.
Community patriotic festivals will often have venues decorated with colorful Banners in red, white, and blue that organizers can get printed at area Print shops offering banner printing services.
The Westerville Independence Day Celebration will be held on July 4 from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm. It will take place in various locations, with the main one being the Westerville Sports Complex at 325 N. Cleveland Avenue.
