Westerville will start off 2022 on the right foot with the OhioHealth First on the First 5K next month.
The 5K will be hosted by OhioHealth, a non-profit healthcare outreach organization that has been recognized as one of the top five large health systems in the country. The organization frequently sponsors healthy lifestyle events for the community. The other hosting organization is M3S Sports, a promoter of racing events that celebrate healthy living.
The 5K will combine traditional New Year Day’s activities with a family-friendly walk/run. The 3.1-mile route will take participants through the scenic areas surrounding the Westerville Community Center. After the run/walk, attendees with be treated to pork tacos, beans, and rice from Yabo’s Tacos, a local taco eatery that puts a creative spin on Southwest food. Finishers of the 5K will receive a medal and a long-sleeved technical race shirt with an event-specific Logo Design.
The 5K is scheduled for January 1, beginning at 11:00 am. The start and finish location will be at Otterbein University located at 180 Center Street, Westerville. Race packet pick-up dates will be on Thursday, December 30 and Friday, December 31 at the Fleet Feet Sports Lewis Center. Race fees vary depending on the date of registration.
