Westerville library to organize winter reading challenge

The Westerville Public Library will be creating a multi-month reading challenge that offers participants various fun activities.

The Read & Be Kind challenge is an activity where both kids and adults can pick up bingo cards from the library and complete tasks to earn prizes. Those younger than 18 will get a free book, while adults 18 and up can win a complimentary mug. There will also be a prize drawing for a $50 VISA card. Organizations like the Westerville Public Library can use Stationery printers to design custom papers for similar activities.

The bingo cards will feature several types of challenges for guests to complete. Aside from reading Books, participants can join events offered by the library to mark off spots on their bingo pages. Adults can make DIY kindness hearts to hang throughout the community, while teens can pick up craft kits for cocoa bombs. The bingo cards will also feature activities like giving others compliments or reading with friends.

The challenge will begin on December 14 and will last until February 27, 2021. Those interested in joining the fun can register in-person or online. There is no age limit for who can participate in the bingo activity. Adults need to register for the DIY kindness heart event no later than this Sunday, December 13, and teens can pick up free cocoa bombs on January 29.
