Nail art is a fast growing part of the beauty industry, and one Westerville company is offering its own products to consumers.
James Robert John, located in Westerville, as well other small area companies, are making their own beauty products.
James Robert John's owner, Rachel Worley, says she wants customers to know local brands are available, and that they are safe and high-quality, as well as being toxin-free, vegan, and not tested on animals. The company is named for Worley's son.
Inspiration for her colors is sometimes a color, or sometimes a name. For instance, Worley had already picked a name for a polish: she wanted to produce a shade she planned to call ‘Taking a Tech Break’, since she felt people would appreciate the reference to getting away from their devices for a few minutes. She experimented, and finally came up with an olive hue for the polish.
Worley is a former spa employee who became interested in creating her own line of polish in 2012. She interviewed various cosmetics makers in the U.S., and when she found one that offered a quick-drying formula, she decided to work with them. She now has several collections under her belt, and sells her polishes via her website, as well as in several salons.
