On April 25, over 300 people got together to enjoy some of the best food Westerville has to offer.
The Taste of Westerville, which is now in its 11th year, has been growing with each event, and this year sold out for the second time. The Westerville Chamber of Commerce hosts the event, and it has become one of its most popular activities.
As its name implies, the Taste of Westerville allows residents, business owners, and community leaders to sample the offerings of 23 various local venders, who provided food, as well as locally-produced wines and specialty beers. Among the dishes included were crab cakes, braised veal meatballs, and tortilla burgers, complemented by red and white wines and North High Brewing's beers.
Among the great variety of vendors were Chocolaterie Stam, Bel Lago Waterfront Dining, and The Rusty Bucket. The winners were Nicole's Catering, which won Westerville's Tastiest award with its Chicken New Orleans; and The Lakes Golf & Country Club, which walked away with Best Presentation for its chicken and cheese quesadillas. Meanwhile, top-notch crab cakes brought the People's Choice award to the Polaris Grill.
Although the event is growing consistently more popular, event organizers still need to consider next year, and could work with a flyer printing company to create a mailer that lists vendors and their specialties.
