New art exhibit in Westerville coffee shop

This month, the Java Central coffee shop will display works by Westerville teacher and artist Ginny Baughman.

Westerville arts community member Ralph Denick saw Baughman's work at Westerville's Music & Arts Festival and was struck by her talent and unusual style, which he says is “considerably different” from other artists he has seen. He asked if she would considering exhibiting her work at Java Central, at which he hosts live performances and art exhibitions, and she agreed.

Since Denick makes every effort to present a number of different artists and styles in the shop, he was glad to see Baughman's unique perspective. He notes that he has never had an artist exhibit works that resemble Baughman's in any way, and further observes that she works in extremely different styles even within her oeuvre. Some of her works are minutely detailed, while others are abstract. Baughman is recognized for her depictions of the landscapes around Westerville.

Art fans will have a chance to meet Baughman at a reception on September 17, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Java Central. Promoters like Denick often consider working with brochure printers to create a colorful catalog of the paintings, which could be distributed at the reception and at the shop during the exhibition, and poster printing might be in order if attendees would like to take away a replica of their own.
