Rock and roll biographer gives talk in Middleburg Heights

Author Annie Zaleski is coming to the Middleburg Heights library to talk about her new book, Stevie Nicks in 50 Songs, this May.

Zalenski is an award-winning writer who has contributed to publications as varied as NPR Music, Salon, Rolling Stone, The A.V. Club, The Los Angeles Times, Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Guardian, Time, Stereogum, Vulture and Billboard.

Known as much for her music criticism as she is for her biographies, including interviewing members of Duran Duran, among other accomplishments, Zaleski is so renowned in her field that she was asked to contribute to the liner notes of R.E.M.’s Out of Time reissue album in 2016.

With Stevie Nick in 50 Songs, Zalenski examines the rock legend’s five-decade-long career, getting to the heart of the songs that defined her musical journey. The illustrated book not only explores the artistry that went into each song, but also the sometimes painful trials and tribulations behind the scenes that shaped the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s craft.
