New tech education center takes shape in Middleburg Heights
Those in the Middleburg Heights area will soon have the chance to gain hi-tech skills and career training, as construction continues on a new tech education facility.
Building on the new Polaris Career Center addition is underway, thanks to an $11.6 million grant from Ohio’s Construction Facilities Expansion Grant program. It will house classroom and lab space to support the Polaris Engineering, Robotics, and Automation (ERA) Program and will provide important training for both school-age and adult learners. The additional 28,000 square feet features lots of glass and natural light, adding to a more modern look and feel to the Center, which already boasts 260,000 square feet of space.
City Councilman Mike Ference, who works as a liaison with the Planning Commission, expressed his enthusiasm:
The Polaris Career Center received a 5-star rating on its recent report card from the state of Ohio. The report summarizes data from four areas of education —Achievement, Career and Post-Secondary Readiness, Graduation Rate, and Post-Program Outcomes.
Project completion is expected sometime next year, with plans to welcome its first students in the fall of 2026. Banner printing is one service from print shops that alerts the public to grand openings.
