A cheery fire in the hearth may be a welcome sight during the colder months of the year, and those who call Middleburg Heights home will soon be able to learn how to keep their chimney in top shape.
The Hearth Shop in Westlake has scheduled a workshop that will cover a variety of topics related to keeping chimneys in good working order. While tickets for the session are free, attendees are asked to consider making a donation to LakewoodAlive in lieu of a registration fee.
During the class, the facilitator will discuss a variety of topics, including flashing, tuck pointing, and when to call in professional help. Details for reopening a fireplace will also be shared, and many pre-World War II homes may fall into this category. A review of patio heaters, custom firepits, and outdoor kitchens is on the agenda as well.
