Middleburg Heights’ fire department recently scheduled its summer fire hydrant testing, and it has sent out an alert to the public to let them know.
The schedule opens next week. Both residential and commercial customers may be affected, and it has been explained that signage will be posted in different neighborhoods when their time comes for the activity.
To help make the process go smoothly, residents have been asked to refrain from running water while the hydrants in their immediate area are being checked, and they may notice some discoloration of their home’s water supply. The organizers assure residents that this is nothing to worry about, and the fix for this is to allow the cold water to run, in the lowest point in their home, until it is clear and colorless. They may need to clean faucet screens and aerators to ensure the water flow is not restricted.
According to the press release prepared by the fire department, testing will continue throughout the summer months. A flyer printing company can prepare mailers, door hangers, and other materials that let the public know when events are happening in their home community.
