Any households in Middleburg Heights with hazardous waste that needs to be disposed of properly have been invited to take advantage of a local program, with dates scheduled for 2024.
The community runs a Household Hazardous Waste Collection program. Dubbed the “Hazardous Waste RoundUps,” these events will be available free of charge, and they will be open for seven hours.
The organizers of these events have stressed that only certain materials will be accepted. Paints, both oil and solvent based, thinners, spray paint, sealers, varnishes, and related products may be dropped off for disposal, as can pesticides, herbicides, herbicides and insecticides. Caustic cleaners, automotive fluids, mercury, adhesives and petroleum-based fuels are also among the items that can be dropped off.
Along with the list of acceptable items, the planners have put together a list of items not accepted, such as latex paints, explosives, tires, appliances, electronics, smoke detectors, and other items with radioactive materials.

The dates for Middleburg Heights Hazardous Waste RoundUps will be April 26, August 16 and October 25. The collection station will be set up at 7375 Engle Road.
