Disposing of hazardous household waste properly can be an easy way to do a good thing for the environment, and an upcoming Middleburg Heights activity will help make this happen.
The city has released its schedule of Hazardous Waste Round Ups, and there are three dates on the list. There will be one event each held in the seasons of spring, summer and fall, and will all take place at the city’s service garage.
The organizer of the sessions explained that a wide assortment of items will be accepted. Pesticides including herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides may all be dropped off. Oils and oil-based paints, solvents, household cleaners, adhesives, mercury, automotive fluids, and fuels such as gas and kerosene will also be welcome. These will be collected and sent for proper disposal. Electric appliances, tires and a list of other materials will not be permitted.
