Many people fondly remember mom or grandma making fresh batches of strawberry jam, and a workshop will make it easy for them to get the same results using their own home freezer.
The Middleburg Heights Branch of the Cyahoga County Public Library has planned a “jam session” for September that will teach the secrets of preparing a batch of strawberry jam. It will use the freezer method, and registration is mandatory to participate.
Attendees will learn how to transform summer strawberries into jam, and since it is freezer style, it will not require a lot of advance preparation. The class runs for one and half hours so that there will be time to ask questions, and it will also be a chance for locals to get out and meet their neighbors in a fun environment.
This activity is on offer to the community thanks to support for the Friends of the Middleburg Heights Branch Library. Providing the registrants in a cookery or other food preparation class with printed recipe cards may encourage them to get cooking in their own kitchen, and these can be crafted by Stationery printers.
This easy introduction to making basic but tasty strawberry freezer jam will begin at 7:00 pm on September 20. It is open to all, and registration for the activity will be accepted starting on August 21.
