Self-defense course protects Mentor students
Students preparing to head to their chosen universities and colleges will want to make a note in their journals, as a self-defense course is coming to Mentor.
The Teen and College-Bound Self-Defense course, organized by RHINO Self-Defense CLE, will host a workshop in the coming weeks to help teens and college-bound students learn basic self-defense strategies and techniques. The course is designed for interested parties 17 and over who want to feel confident and prepared for going to college.
The course will be held over three hours to empower participants in a fun learning setting. The instructor will demonstrate the safety tips and defense techniques to maintain a healthy body and mind. The instructor will be a retired law enforcement officer with over four decades of police experience. Flyer printing is an excellent way to spread the word about such events around the community and increase participation.
Students will learn the importance of awareness, tips for using social media safely, self-defence techniques and actions, and how to socialize. Attendees are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and athletic clothing to allow for explosive movements and range of motion. Water and snacks are also recommended.
The course will be held on Saturday, July 19th, at RHINO Self Defense in Mentor, from noon until 3:00 PM. Interested parties can enroll online for $65.87 per student.
