A birding festival will be held at a Mentor park this autumn, providing multiple days for enthusiasts to gather and watch dozens of bird species migrate south ahead of winter.
The 3rd Annual Headlands Birding Festival has announced its official dates for 2026, and bird enthusiasts who wish to attend will want to circle the date on their Calendars. The multi-day festival, which grew in its second year, is expected to bring sizable crowds for the fall migration.
The Mentor/Headlands Marsh has developed into a birding hotspot in recent years because of its high diversity and volume of migratory birds, with 352 species having been documented. The event will feature an inclusive environment that is open to interested individuals of all backgrounds, experience levels, and ages. Printing services can provide educational documents that organizers can distribute to guests to enhance guided tours and learning experiences.
Guided walks led by knowledgeable birding experts will be held throughout the festival, and guests can attend discussions about bird-related topics. Nature-centric vendors will be at the festival with their goods on display, offering a shopping opportunity to visitors and registered guests.
The Headlands Marsh, located at 9601 Headlands Road, will be the festival’s host site. The festival will kick off at 3:30 PM on Friday, September 18th, and run through Sunday, September 20th. Registration is open online and starts at $20 per person.
