A popular biennial fundraiser is returning to Mentor this spring to raise money for a cause, inviting area residents to join for a fun day together.
Soaring Hearts 2026, which is being organized by Crossroads Health, is set to kick off this May with a day of flying kites and fun in the sun. This year’s event is aiming to break its own record, set at the 2024 gathering, of the most kites flown simultaneously. The figure to beat is 2,000 kites.
Kite enthusiasts and other members of the Mentor community will get to spend the day at a beach playing and socializing. In addition to the kite-flying session, guests can enjoy snacks and meals from participating food trucks, sip on beverages, and enter into raffles for the opportunity to win prizes. Grassroots marketing strategies can use flyer printing to organically spread the word of such events by placing Flyers in public spaces.
All of the fundraiser’s proceeds will benefit Crossroads Health as it works to assist the most vulnerable members of the Mentor community with healthcare services. All are welcome, though pets are prohibited on the beach. Participants are asked to bring their own kite from home.
The fundraiser will be held at Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor on Saturday, May 16 from noon to 4:00 PM. Interested parties can make reservations online.
