Forest bathing helps Mentor connect with nature

A wellness experience is preparing to take Mentor residents into nature to discover deeper connections and healing through a Japanese cultural practice called “Shinrin Yoku.”

Forest Bathing, presented by Kathy Coleman of Wise Warriors Coaching, is coming to a park in Mentor next month, offering interested parties the opportunity to learn more about the Japanese practice of immersing oneself in natural settings. The purpose of the practice is to discover the health and wellness benefits that come with taking time to slow down in nature.

Participants will be invited to use their senses to explore the natural setting and the surrounding trees. Coleman will teach each guest the steps to take toward mindfulness and creating a rewarding connection with nature. Flyer printing is a fantastic way to announce such wellness events around the community by placing colorful Flyers in public spaces that receive high volumes of traffic.

The forest bathing session will proceed as planned unless severe weather conditions necessitate postponement. It will still move forward if the weather is hot, cold, snowing, or raining. Organizers will use Signs to guide interested parties and registered guests to the meeting point from which the experience will embark.

Veterans Memorial Park in Mentor will be the setting for a forest bathing session, which will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 15th. Tickets are $34 per person online.
