Photography clinic brings picture-perfect experience to Mentor area

Nature enthusiasts and amateur photographers will want to limit their plans for next month, as a hands-on photography course is coming to the Mentor region.

The Composition in the Field photography event is set to start in a few weeks, bringing attendees to the 3,600 acres of lush plant life in the Holden Arboretum. Participants will walk the park's paths to discover wildlife and native fauna. Named after Robert Fairchild Holden, the conservatory is one of the largest in the United States.

Course instructors will guide participants through the trails to see the park's highlights and capture images of the nature within. Attendees will have three hours to explore the arboretum and capture photos while honing their photography skills.

Instructors will provide tips on shutter speed control with moving water, landscape compositions, and depth-of-field techniques to capture the fields of flowers. Poster printing is an excellent way to display the best photos captured at events like this.

Guests will leave the event with new skills they can hone and several nature photos worth displaying at home. Attendees will need to bring their cameras and dress for the weather.

The Holden Arboretum will host the event on Saturday, May 18, beginning at 11:00 AM and ending at 2:00 PM. General admission tickets cost $125 per attendee and are available online.
