The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Mind Body Align and Small Business Development Centers, have kicked off a monthly networking session in Mansfield for women entrepreneurs.
Entitled ‘Lunch WISE’, which stands for Women Innovators Seeking Enrichment, the first successful session was recently held.
The idea was formed when organizers realized that the Small Business Development Center’s yearly Mid-Ohio Women’s Business Showcase was not held frequently enough for the needs of local entrepreneurs. The monthly sessions will give women the means to network more often. Women attending the sessions may wish to obtain digital Business Cards to have ready to exchange with other entrepreneurs they meet during the sessions.
The three organizations that formed the sessions are working towards a common goal of developing the network and seeing it strengthen and expand within the community. The first event saw over 40 women gather at Ed Pickens Café to discuss three areas of improving communications: compromising, communicating expectations, and respecting the challenger. The November session’s topic will be ‘gratitude’ and December’s theme will be ‘giving’.
The sessions cost $12 per person and are open to anyone in the community. The meetings, which typically last an hour, will take place on the third Wednesday of every month. To register for the sessions or obtain more information, visit the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce website.
