Mansfield’s fire officers who want to be in top form may want to make sure they save room in their agenda for a training opportunity that will soon be offered to them right in their own home town.
This year’s Springfield Township Fire Seminar will be facilitated by Dr. Graylin Stargell, who is a former chief officer with several decades of experience in the field, and he will be approaching the topic of firefighting from the viewpoint of a 21st-Century fire officer. The subjects that will be addressed have been chosen to help those who take the training to be effective in their role as a chief or company officer.
The attendees in the daylong event will be led through an interactive exploration of steps they can take to develop effective training programs and ensure the long-term sustainability of their company. They will also investigate the difference between attitude and aptitude and their own personal leadership style, all with an eye to their future career development.
Along with all of the above topics, the participants will be asked to review the public image of their fire department to see if it could benefit from a few tweaks. A printer that offers Graphic Design Services will be able to lend a hand in this area by offering everything from logos to Posters and other Promotional Products.
This opportunity for local fire officers to add to their professional toolbox will be held on December 1 in the Hawkins Event Center. The day is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am.
