Hypertufa is a material that can be used to create a variety of planters and other garden art, and the participants in Mansfield workshop will get creative with this substance using their own two hands.
Made up of a mixture of peat moss, cement and perlite, hypertufa can offer a way to create pots and other items utilizing techniques that have been in use since ancient times. Although the material may be modern in origin, it provides a rustic look that may pair well with rock gardens and succulent plantings as well as annuals and perennials.
The class, which will be taught at Kingwood Center Gardens, will be a hands-on activity, and each of the registrants will have a chance to make their own item. The instruction and materials will be supplied, and it was noted that the items will need to cure for a few days before they will be made available for pickup. The admission fee for Kingwood members is $28, while non-members will be asked to pay $35.
Workshops like this offer an introduction to a new hobby, and a flyer printing company will have many ideas for promoting it to the local area.
