Though it may be the middle of summer, fall is not far away, and that means plans are underway for a special Mansfield event.
Kingwood Center Gardens has set the date for its annual Great Pumpkin Glow, which will see thousands of jack-o-lanterns light up the autumn night, along with other displays to enjoy. The event is being presented thanks to financial assistance from Ohio Health.
Plans in the works for the weekend range from the 15-foot-tall tree to an enchanted forest, kids’ carnival, and food truck. A DJ will provide the musical backdrop, and there will be plenty of seasonal decor to inspire the attendees to decorate their own property.
To help make The Glow happen, the organizers count on the generous spirit of volunteers. They have made arrangements to hold a Community Carve, which will see volunteers transform more than a thousand pumpkins into festive luminaries. Print shops can craft special tokens of thanks to present to those that lend a hand with a local event like this one.
The 2024 Great Pumpkin Glow will add an extra touch of fun to fall from Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 20. The community carve will be held on Wednesday, October 16, and both activities are set for 50 North Trimble Road. Tickets start at $12.
