Moms who look back wistfully on their high school days will be taking a step back in time when they attend a function that will offer the atmosphere of a graduation prom.
Mansfield’s Ohio State Reformatory has become a popular event venue, and it will be rolling out the welcome mat for the Mom Prom. Boasting an ‘80s vibe, all women aged 21 and up are invited to attend.
Those who purchase a ticket for the night are encouraged to dig out their old wedding, bridesmaid, or even their original prom dress and enter into the spirit of the occasion. There will be special awards presented for “the best dressed” and also “the biggest hair,” and everyone can enjoy the appetizers served. A cash bar and photo booth will both be on site as well.
To add even more fun to the event, the organizers have asked each guest to send in a copy of their original prom picture. These will be on display throughout the celebration. A banner printing company can prepare oversized decor, including photo blow-ups and other items.
Mansfield moms and other ladies will be dancing away at this special event scheduled for Saturday, May 3. The doors will open at 6:00 pm, and the proceeds from the festivities will be donated to the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society.
