Whether they fish for food or follow catch and release practices, fishing is a hobby many enjoy, and a Mansfield activity will introduce this pastime to the next generation of fishers.
North Lake Park will be the venue for the Family Fishing Day activity. It will be co-hosted by the state and federal government as well as Connecting Kids Inside Out, which is the function’s community partner.
The gathering, which will have offerings for the whole family, will see kids learn how to bait their hook, cast off, and hopefully reel in a big catch. There will be volunteers on hand to help, and along with the fishing, attendees will be treated to a petting zoo, free food, and visits to a bird sanctuary. The gear and bait items will be supplied, and everyone can take in one of the skills demonstrations.
